This Caribbean paradise offers stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, thrilling excursions, and some of the best dining experiences – plus with perfect weather year round, you really can’t go wrong traveling here anytime you feel the urge. I’ve been to Aruba over ten times in the past 4 years and I even lived on island for a full month completely solo – it’s truly one of the safest and most welcoming islands to explore. Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or incredible food, this guide will help you plan the perfect itinerary for Aruba.

Where to Stay in Aruba

Budget-Friendly Airbnb

For an authentic island experience, I highly recommend booking an Airbnb with a car rental to truly explore all that Aruba has to offer. My personal favorite is a little casita in Esmeralda Noord – a charming stay with incredible hosts that makes you feel at home while being close to everything. It’s nothing too fancy but it’s a quiet neighborhood and minutes to the beach plus it’s under $200/night which is such a great deal & most Airbnbs are average $75-200.

Mid-Range Hotels

  • Marriott Aruba Resort & Stellaris Casino – A great beachfront resort with a lively atmosphere ($350–$500 per night).
  • Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino – Perfect for those who want a central location with top-notch amenities ($300–$450 per night).

Luxury Splurge

  • Boardwalk Boutique Hotel – This hidden gem offers a unique and relaxing stay with tropical casitas and lush gardens ($400–$600 per night) – I loved it so much it earned a spot on my top 8 boutique hotels around the world!
  • Joia Aruba – A brand-new luxury boutique hotel that you can book with points, making it an excellent option for travelers who love maximizing their rewards ($450–$700 per night)

Best Beaches in Aruba

Aruba is home to some of the most breathtaking beaches in the Caribbean. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, snorkeling, or adventure, these are the must-visit beaches:

  • Arashi Beach – A quiet, scenic beach perfect for snorkeling and swimming
  • Boca Catalina – A small, serene beach with great snorkeling spots and calm waters
  • Palm Beach – Lively and bustling with resorts, restaurants, and water activities
  • Eagle Beach – One of the most beautiful beaches in the world, known for its soft white sand and iconic divi-divi trees
  • Baby Beach – A shallow, family-friendly beach with crystal-clear waters, ideal for a relaxing swim
  • Mangel Halto – A hidden gem with mangroves, perfect for snorkeling in its vibrant marine life
  • Boca Prins – A rugged, scenic beach located in Arikok National Park, great for dramatic views and photography (not for swimming due to strong currents)

Best Restaurants in Aruba

Food lovers, get ready! Aruba has an incredible food scene, and these are some of my absolute favorites:

  • Zeerover – A must-visit for the freshest seafood right on the water ($10-$25 per person)
  • Lima Bistro – If you want a new favorite restaurant you’ll want to come here ($40-$65 per person)
  • Azar Aruba – Incredible Peruvian flavors in a stylish setting ($30-$60 per person)
  • Lola Taqueria – The best upscale tacos on the island with an upbeat vibe ($15-$30 per person)
  • Eduardo’s Beach Shack – Perfect for healthy and delicious smoothie bowls ($10-$20 per person)
  • Oak Restaurant – A great spot for steak, seafood, pasta, and craft cocktails ($40-$70 per person)
  • Lucca – If you’re craving amazing pizza, this is the place to go ($20-$40 per person)

Best Excursions & Activities in Aruba

Water Adventures

  • Boat Rental with Red Sail Aruba – Explore the coastline, swim in turquoise waters, and enjoy a perfect day at sea.
  • ATV/UTV Tour with Arubiana – Experience the rugged side of Aruba with an off-road adventure to hidden gems.
  • Scuba Diving or Snorkeling with Aruba Bob – Coco and Luis are the BEST guides, and this is one of the most unique underwater experiences on the island. You’ll typically snorkel out of Mangel Halto which is a beautiful reef just south of the airport.
  • Snorkeling with Turtles at Tres Trapi – Arrive before 9 AM for the best chance to see turtles, but remember: do not touch them and stay quiet—this is their home!

Nature & Wildlife

  • Hike to Conchi or the New Natural Pool – If you’re up for a little adventure, these natural pools are breathtaking spots to swim in.
  • Volunteer at Sgt. Pepper’s Friends Animal Shelter – Spend a day with rescue dogs, give back, and maybe even meet your new furry best friend!
  • Visit the Aruba Butterfly Farm – Full of beautiful butterflies in a little hidden oasis this offers a unique, affordable, and quick experience to kill some time.

Getting Around Aruba

One of the best ways to explore Aruba is by renting a car. I highly recommend Econo Car Rental, which is located just steps outside the airport. They are the most affordable rental agency on the island, and their team is incredibly friendly and helpful. If you rent with them, tell Zoe I sent you 😉

Final Tips for Your Aruba Trip

  • Aruba is incredibly safe. I lived here solo for a full month and never felt unsafe once.
  • Renting a car is the best way to explore beyond the resorts and experience hidden beaches, local dining spots, and natural wonders. Ask locals their favorite spots to eat and guaranteed you’ll find your new favorite restaurant!!
  • Book excursions in advance to secure your spot, especially for popular activities like snorkeling with Aruba Bob or ATV tours.

Whether you’re here for a quick getaway or a longer stay, Aruba is a destination you’ll fall in love with at any time of year. Happy travels!

Keep Up with Sam
